North Northumberland Network (NNN)

The North Northumberland Network (NNN) is made up of a combination of public, voluntary and community organisations with the main agenda based around sharing information and strengthening the collective voice of the voluntary and community sector.

The NNN remains a unique local opportunity to bring together practitioners from the public and voluntary sector and fill the gaps other networks or forums do not cover. The network had been meeting four times a year at various locations around North Northumberland – Wooler, Cornhill, Lowick, Belford, Seahouses and Berwick-upon-Tweed. The meeting were informal but extremely informative with information shared about funding opportunities, local and national campaigns, community development, education and health issues and social inclusion. Obviously due to lockdown restrictions these meetings have not been possible however the NNN has remained connected in other ways including virtual zoom meetings.

The voluntary and community sector has played a vital role in supporting the statutory agencies and our communities throughout the past year and no doubt it will continue to do so as the lockdown eases and we return to some kind of normality.  North Northumberland Voluntary Forum will continue to keep the VCS connected by producing a  newsletter which includes issues relevant to the sector. Information and news will be sourced from bulletins produced by the Government, Charity Commission, national and regional VCO and primarily information from you – our members. It is very important that we keep each other updated on issues that affect our communities so please share with us any news that you have about your organisations and the phased/gradual re-opening of your services.

The North Northumberland Network is hosted by the North Northumberland Voluntary Forum in partnership with Thriving Together Network.

The next NNN meeting will be held in Belford – date to be confirmed in 2024
